FINTRAC imposes an administrative monetary penalty on MP Technology Services Ltd.

December 18, 2025 — Ottawa

FINTRAC announced today that it has imposed an administrative monetary penalty on MP Technology Services Ltd., a subsidiary of MoonPay Inc. Following a compliance examination, this Seychelles-incorporated foreign money services business operating in Canada was imposed an administrative monetary penalty of $536,853.35 on November 20, 2025, for non-compliance with Part 1 of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations.

MP Technology Services Ltd., was found to have committed the following administrative violations:

FINTRAC found that declined transactions that should have been reported to FINTRAC, but were not, were flagged for having direct or indirect exposure to darknet marketplaces, sanctioned entities, and child sexual abuse material.
