FINTRAC imposes an administrative monetary penalty on VersaBank

May 5, 2026 — Ottawa

FINTRAC announced today that it has imposed an administrative monetary penalty on VersaBank. Following a compliance assessment activity, this bank headquartered in London, Ontario, was imposed an administrative monetary penalty of $42,075 on February 23, 2026, for non-compliance with Part 1 of the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act and associated Regulations.

VersaBank was found to have committed the following administrative violations:

The administrative monetary penalty has been paid in full and the case is closed.
